Pediatric Dentist in Raleigh & Holly Springs

Our office is committed to providing excellent care for our littlest patients!  We offer custom treatment based on your child’s needs.  From your child’s first cleaning up through their teenaged years, we prioritize dental health – and ensure that each visit to our office is fun!

We offer a wide range of dental services for children.  Whether your child needs a restoration procedure completed or just a simple cleaning, we’ve got it covered.  Of course, we believe dental education should start at a young age – the American Dental Association recommends children see a dentist for the first time when they are 1 year old.  While most of this education starts at home with routine brushing and flossing, regular dentist visits are important to normalize dental health.

A Soothing Environment

For many people, fear of the dentist begins at childhood.  That’s why we emphasize fun in our office! Kids love our children’s nook, featuring games and books to keep them entertained. Our treasure chest of prizes is offered to each child at the end of their appointment, giving kids a reason to look forward to every trip to the dentist.

Common Pediatric Dental Problems

Though baby teeth will eventually fall out and be replaced by permanent teeth, they’re worth taking care of.  A person’s dental hygiene is learned and maintained in childhood.  That’s why we take common pediatric dental problems like toothaches so seriously.  Toothaches are often indicative of infected gums, tooth decay, tooth fractures, dental trauma or a damaged filling.  Left untreated, these issues can impact the development of a child’s jaw bone and muscles.

As your child grows into a young adult, they begin to care more about their self-image.  Proper dental care ensures straight teeth, and Dr. Klooster also offers Invisalign® for families who are interested.

Sedation and Children

Many children are anxious about trips to the dentist’s office, which is why we offer sedation in the form of nitrous oxide.  Also known as laughing gas, nitrous is safe to use on children and allows them to have a relaxed, easy experience.  The sweet-smelling gas creates a feeling of calm in the patient.

At the end of the appointment, patients receive five minutes of oxygen to clear the effects of the laughing gas, allowing them to continue their day unaffected.  This means your child won’t have to miss a full day of school!
